A Look inside Cabot Cove of Largo Assisted Living & Integrated Memory Care Community

Mother’s Day Darlings!

Cabot Cove had a delightful Mother’s Day Luncheon and celebration. Our cook extraordinaire, Chico, created beautiful dishes of Chicken Schnitzel, Flank Steak, Duchess Potatoes & Rainbow Carrots. To finish off the meal we had assorted Cheesecake. The ladies loved the wrist corsages made by the activity department. We thank all the family members that came to help us celebrate our fantastic moms! At Cabot Cove we always encourage family & friends to come and join us in our planned activities, or to join us for a meal! We serve up excellent meals that our residents enjoy very much.

Lunch at Roosterfish Grill!

Every month, Cabot Cove offers the opportunity to go out to lunch. This month, residents went to Roosterfish Grill in Largo. A great seafood restaurant with great ambiance! Dottie, Ron, Lynn, Debbie Donna, Blanche, Yvonne, & Julie all had a great time! We had our own private room too! So delicious!

Importance of Resident Council

The purpose of having a resident council in health care facilities is to give residents greater participation in affairs within their own home and to suggest improvements and assist administration in providing better programs, surroundings, and services. Every resident is a member of the resident council. The responsibility of the council officers is to greet new members and orient them to the facility. Also, to serve as a liaison between the activity, dietary, medical services and the residents. The officers are to listen to concerns and provide an opportunity for discussion before the full council meets. They are to follow up on complaints with the administrator or ombudsman. Source for information is from Resident Council Handbook. We are happy to announce Cabot Cove recently elected their new Resident Council President, Lynn T. to preside for this current year! Please read below to find out more about Lynn!

Getting to Know Lynn T.

My parents were Adrienne & David Roberts. They had me at the Wilmington General Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware in August 1954. Mom had four kids in four years! I had one sister & two brothers; we were all very close. When I was almost 14, I met my neighbor’s friend, Tom. We dated and fell in love. I spent my senior year planning our wedding! I graduated June of 1973, and we married in June, just a few weeks after graduation with 250 guests attending. We left for our honeymoon, having no idea where we were going. He took me to a beautiful resort in Wildwood, N.J. for a week, then off to Cove Haven in the Poconos. Then we moved to Philadelphia, PA. Our son, Thomas was born in 1976, and our daughter Dawn was born in 1978. Our little family moved to Clearwater, FL in 1980.

My son Thomas now lives in Miami Shores, FL with his kids, Bella & Honor and his wife Jennifer. Dawn & her husband Matt live in Pinellas Park, FL. I was married to Tom for 49 years. He passed away 4 days after my birthday in 2022. My life has changed since I came to Cabot Cove. I have made many new friends & I love seeing all the smiling faces. I am very happy and honored to be your Resident Council President. One of my favorite pastimes is adult coloring, and helping others.

Faith Based Activities

senior living gathering for prayer

Cabot Cove has faith-based activities, that are also open to friends & family. Every Tuesday at 11 am we have a Bible Study group that meets in the activity room. We grow and learn about the Bible. We laugh & sometimes cry. It is a nice time of fellowship! On the first & third Sundays, we have the New Testament Baptist Church come and sing with worship songs and fellowship. It is a great time for family & friends to come and share this time with us. Cabot Cove also enjoys Holy Communion presented by St Catherine’s of Sienna Catholic Church. We are looking for more church involvement if any family or friend would be interested. Please contact the Cabot Cove Activity Department if you are interested.
