A Look inside Cabot Cove of Largo Assisted Living Community

Mother’s Day!

Corsages were passed out to all the ladies, made by our resident council president, Lynn Timko! The room was filled with smiles and a great time! The kitchen staff cooked up delicious flank steak & orange ginger sesame salmon; the twice baked potatoes were amazing! To end the meal with a bang we had a fabulous cheesecake! Thank you to the friends and family that came out to join us here at Cabot Cove of Largo on this special day! We always encourage family to join our senior residents in our events.

Guys Doing Their Thing!

Cabot Cove has a great bunch of guys who love to help out when they can! Lorenzo is our plant caretaker! He keeps our garden in the courtyard all watered and looking great! Ron does exercise class on Saturdays to keep everyone moving. Be sure to join him Saturday mornings!

Resident Council Meetings!

The purpose of having a resident council in health care facilities is to give senior residents greater participation in affairs within their own home, to suggest improvements and assist administration in providing better programs, surroundings, and services. Every resident is a member of the resident council. The duties of the resident council offices are:

  • President who will preside over all meetings
  • Vice–President presides in the absence of the president
  • Secretary records and maintains minutes of each meeting

The responsibility of the council officers is to greet new members and orient them to their new assisted living community. They also serve as a liaison between the activity, dietary & medical services and the residents, for suggestions & improvements. The officers are to listen to concerns and provide an opportunity for discussion before the full council meets. They are to follow up on complaints with the administrator or ombudsman. Source for information is from Resident Council Handbook. At the next Resident Council meeting June 18h, we will be electing a new secretary for the resident Council, as this position is vacant.

June Outings So Fun!

On Wednesdays, Cabot Cove residents enjoy outside trips to stores for shopping or lunches. We are hoping for more participants in these activities. Please join us in the month of June as we venture out to the big amazing Dollar Store for shopping. We are going to Cheddar’s for lunch. Family is welcome to meet us there and join in on the fun and good food!
